Ward chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State have been cautioned against the possible antics of aspirants, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Chairman of PDP in Oshimili South local government area, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, who gave the admonishment in an enlarged meeting of party stakeholders, reiterated the support of the local government for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in deciding a worthy successor.
Ogbueshi Okonji called on residents of the area to take advantage of the ongoing voters’ registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stressing that a committee had been constituted by Oshimili South PDP to make the process seamless for the electorates.
The voters’ registration committee, headed by Mr. Chike Ifesiokwu with the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon Bridget Anyafulu as Secretary, while Hon Greatman Obusom will serve as the committee’s treasurer, was charged to intensify mobilization of eligible voters.
He acknowledged the legacies of Governor Okowa in Oshimili South, especially the state capital, citing the ongoing Koka Flyover, multi-billion naira state secretariat, the Asaba Specialist Hospital, the Stephen Keshi Stadium, among others and urged the people to continue to support the governor in his quest to finish strong.
In their separate remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor and a former Commissioner for Students Affairs, Alanza Uche Ugboma, commended the party chairman for his leadership and urged PDP faithful to support the governor and the party hierarchy
