Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, has lauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he described as a resounding demonstration of internal democracy, unity, and political maturity at its 8th National Convention held in Abuja.

Ochei praised the peaceful and widely endorsed consensus process that culminated in the re-election of Nentawe Yilwatda as National Chairman, alongside other members of the party’s National Executive Committee.

He noted that the overwhelming support by delegates reflects renewed confidence in the party’s leadership and a collective resolve to consolidate its progressive ideals.

As a member of the Convention’s Ceremonial, Programme and Protocol Committee, Ochei described the exercise as a defining moment for the APC, underscoring its institutional strength and readiness to deepen democratic governance.

He further expressed strong confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, affirming that the administration remains firmly on course to deliver transformative reforms capable of driving sustainable national development.

Turning to developments in Delta State, Ochei commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the successful hosting of the 2026 South-South Congress in Asaba, as well as the disciplined and exemplary conduct of Delta delegates at the national convention.

According to him, these developments reinforce the state’s strategic importance and unwavering commitment to securing decisive victories for the APC in the 2027 general elections.

RT Hon Ochei played active role in the Delta State elective congress held on March 3, 2026, at the Cenotaph, Asaba, where he moved the motion for the dissolution of the State Executive Council, paving the way for the emergence of a new leadership under Solomon Arenyeka through a consensus-driven process.

Reaffirming his reputation as a seasoned grassroots mobilizer and statesman, The President of Nigeria Tennis Federation Ochei emphasized his enduring capacity to build consensus, strengthen institutions, and inspire collective action in pursuit of the common good.

He stressed that his leadership trajectory remains defined by discipline, inclusivity, and a results-driven approach, qualities he continues to deploy in advancing unity within the party and fostering sustainable development across Delta State and beyond.
