The Ward 4 chairman, Ibusa, Oshimili North local government area of Delta state, Mr Patrick Anyaobi, has stated that Ward 4 votes, and other wards votes in the local government area are for Ned Nwoko, asserting that his political rival, Peter Nwaoboshi of All Progressives Congress (APC), who also happened to be a native of Ibusa, has no influence in the community and in the local government as a whole.
Anyaobi made this assertion on Monday, 28 November, 2022, during the Ward-to-Ward senatorial campaign of Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, in Oshimili North local government.
According to Anyaobi, “No other party can oppose PDP in this Ward, we will deliver all five offices. Ward 4 will vote PDP at all levels, because, since 1999, this ward has been enjoying the dividends of PDP. We don’t have any other hope aside PDP, that is why we must continue voting PDP.”
Responding to whether Nwaoboshi still has influence in the local government, the ward 4 chairman said no. He stated that the day Nwaoboshi left PDP, was the day he lost influence in the community and in the entire local government area.
“Nwaoboshi cannot be an opponent because, even the panties he wears were given to him by PDP. Everything he owns today, were given to him by PDP. So, he has no say. As long as this local government area is concerned, Nwaoboshi has no influence. The day he left PDP, was the day he lost his influence here,” Anyaobi said.
The wards visited by Prince Ned Nwoko, and his campaign train, in Oshimili North, on Monday, 28 November, are: Ward 4, Ward 5, Ward 6, Ward 7, and Ward 8, all in Ibusa community.
