With less than three weeks away from the 2023 senatorial election, the National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Delta North axis, has declared it’s earnest support for Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, in the forthcoming senatorial election.
The endorsement was made official on Friday, 10 February, 2023, during the visit of the Union’s representatives to Mount Ned, Idumuje-Ugboko, the home country of the senatorial candidate.
Speaking on behalf of the Union, Comrade Collins Ogwugwua, said that, the NULGE made the resolution to support Nwoko because of his enormous support towards the development of Anioma. Noting that, Nwoko’s determination to making Anioma a better place is unfaltering.
Ogwugwua also assured that, the Union will extend their support to other PDP candidates. He notified that the NULGE will organise a mass rally in coming days to further draw public support for Nwoko and other PDP candidates.
In Ogwugwua’s words, “NULGE decided to endorse and vote Hon Prince Ned Nwoko because he is an illustrious son of Anioma. We know and respect him as an accomplished philanthropist, a man of integrity and service.
“We recall that he was the initiator of the Paris club loans refunds which bailed out local governments across Nigeria from financial difficulties. Through Ned , local government workers were able to receive their salaries regularly. He is a pilar of local government administration.
“ We want to emphasize that NULGE will mobilize its members, numbering over Five thousand (5000) In the Nine (9) local government areas of Delta North to vote Hon Ned Nwoko as a reward for his good works over the years.”
Responding, Nwoko expressed gratitude and reaffirmed his pledge of responsive governance.
“I appreciate your support. I am also impressed with your idea of a complete team. I have many workable plans that will benefit the people, but I need a complete team to actualize them”, Nwoko said.
