Mrs Christy Uba, the acting Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, on Tuesday, 13 December, while addressing the 2022 Batch C, stream 11 corp members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in the Wamakko Local Government Area, Sokoto State, urged the corps members who may likely participate in the forthcoming general elections, to maintain neutral ground.
According to PUNCH, Uba urged the corps members to be neutral, apolitical and patriotic, not to compromise, and to do the right thing during the election.
“Stay straightforward on issues, build bridges, and build relationships. You’re going to benefit from it later. It is one of the assets you’ll gather here, and it’s going to help you in the future,” she said.
The Director-General, adviced the corps members to take advantage of the election sensitisation programmes and training to gain knowledge.
She further appealed to all political actors to protect the corps members and put them first before their interests.
