The presidential candidate of the labour party,Peter Obi has said that he prays to be given the opportunity to lead Nigeria at a critical juncture in her history.

A tweet from Obi’s official Twitter account read;
“I am aware that many are called to serve; and many are aspiring to this position. However, in the fullness of time and based on our leadership needs, I pray and hope that I will be given the opportunity to lead Nigeria at a critical juncture in her history”

He went further to reiterate the reason for being a presidential candidate,noting that his desire is borne our of a deep conviction that Nigerians deserve far better than they have been served by their leaders.

“My desire is borne out of a deep conviction that Nigerians deserve far better than they have been served by their leaders. Currently, Nigeria works for a small minority of people; Nigeria must work for ALL Nigerians. -PO”.

However,amidst Obi’s supporters accoladatory comments,some netizens fired at the Ex-Anambra Governor.

@ MrLawbusuyi tweeted “Of true Nigeria deserve a good leader but not ur type sir, bcs you’ve not shown leadership even since you’ve left power in 2014, where are those that served under you either as Commissioners, SAs and all other appointees under ur watch? Are they supporting ur selfish ambition??

@Aspiringdatist “You were once part of the leaders, aren’t U one of them?

@ Chris1234J “Have you not led in this country? You served as Governor-APGA, Member Economic team – PDP, Running mate to Atiku-PDP and you were member of PDP up until May this year when you jumped to LP; what makes you a saint? What makes you different? What are you going to do differently?
