Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District on Sunday held a high-level strategy session at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, where they collectively reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The meeting, which drew senior government functionaries, party executives, community leaders, and grassroots mobilisers, centred on strengthening unity, discipline, and internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections. Attendees discussed fortifying the party’s organisational structure, improving collaboration across all strata, and preparing for what they described as a pivotal election cycle.
Moving the motion of loyalty—seconded by Chief Andrew Oru—the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, applauded President Tinubu for notable improvements in national security and economic stabilisation. He noted that security indices across regions were improving, crediting the President’s renewed commitment to tackling insecurity.
Keyamo also praised Governor Oborevwori for what he described as unprecedented infrastructural developments across Delta State.
He urged members to remain united as APC congresses approach, warning aspirants that no ticket would be secured “from Abuja” without the backing of grassroots leaders. Loyalty, alignment, and respect for the party hierarchy, he stressed, remain essential for victory.
Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, highlighted the ongoing political realignment from PDP to APC, noting that grassroots engagement and the guidance of respected elders would be vital to electoral success. He encouraged members to stay resilient and focused despite political opposition.
Similarly, Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, cautioned against factionalism and indiscipline, describing Delta Central as the party’s “political engine room” in the state.
Akpeki emphasised:
“Delta State APC has only one leader—His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. This is not up for debate. Any loyalty outside this structure is unacceptable.”
He announced new reforms to strengthen the party, including mandatory monthly senatorial meetings rotating across the eight LGAs, and the establishment of a Delta Central APC Caucus Committee to drive strategic planning, conflict resolution, mobilisation, and performance monitoring.
“Our mission is too important and the stakes too high for division. Delta Central APC must function as one family, with one direction and one goal: victory in 2027,” he added.
Other leaders, including Senator Ede Dafinone, Hon. Ejiro Waive, NEXIM Bank Executive Director Stella Okotete, Chief Solomon Igrakpata, and Chief Andrew Oru—echoed the call for unity and discipline.
Local Government APC chairmen in attendance pledged to deliver overwhelming votes for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in 2027.
At the close of the meeting, leaders reaffirmed their resolve to reposition Delta Central APC as a united, disciplined, and formidable force ahead of the next general elections.
