2027 Presidential Election: Bode George bored in political retirement – Mayor Akpodoro

The Head of the Association of Urhobo Mayoral Family, AUMF, and the Mayor of Urhoboland, Eshanakpe Israel a.k.a Akpodoro, has described the statement concerning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s probable second term ambition by a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Chieftain, Chief Bode George, as a midsummer night dream which he adduced to boredom associated with political retirement.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Urhobo-born Mayor in his Ughelli Mayoral Palace in a reaction to the comment credited to the former Vice National Vice Chairman, South West, of the PDP at an event marking his 79th birthday anniversary saying Nigerians are waiting to sack the Tinubu’s administration in 2027 due to what he called hardship.

On the contrary, Akpodoro noted that Nigerians are waiting more than ever before to overwhelmingly renew President Tinubu’s mandate at the polls in 2027.

He added that it is a general knowledge that the transformative administration of the president, is yielding “immeasurable dividends” thereby renewing the hope of Nigerians for a virile and equitable nation as against the havoc wrecked by Chief George’s PDP on the nation’s socio-economic and political landscape for twenty four years.

He said that President Tinubu has demonstrated sufficient dexterity, capacity, political will to exit the nation out of the ruins of the PDP saying it is only reactionary elements who are against the current national economic renaissance being championed by the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration.

Akpodoro noted that Chief George dropped his plan to embark on his would-have-being self-imposed exile since Tinubu won the February 2023 Presidential election due to the fact that the president has renewed his hope in the nation saying, if otherwise, the former military governor of old Ondo State would have long been in exile.

He said the Lagos-born politician “owes the President a huge gratitude for making him (Chief George) see hope in President Tinubu’s Nigeria.”

The retired naval boss, according to Mayor Akpodoro, was chief among the PDP leadership who frittered the opportunities to make Nigeria great when the price of crude oil was at rooftop in the International marke.

Akpodoro noted as a PDP top-notch across administrations, Chief George didn’t raise any moral flag while the leadership of his party invaded the national economy and fleeced it to its bone marrow saying his comments reeks self denial and pretence adding that Nigerians know those who plunged them into the current woes that President is doing his best to exit nation.

Under the PDP, Akpodoro said, the nation was at its worst by all known standards when the ruling party chieftains smiled to the banks acquiring properties for themselves and their proxies all over the world at the detriment of public good.

He stressed further that Nigeria is yet to heal from the invasion of its commonwealth by the PDP goons saying, under the umbrella party, the citizens were hopeless in abject poverty and despondency unlike now that the nation lives in hope for a stronger, dependable, more reliable and sustainable developed nation.

But for crass politics, Chief George lacks the moral rectitude to point a wrong finger at President Tinubu who he described as a proven reformist and a pan Nigerian nationalist who is recalibrating a nation destroyed by those who want the norm of corruption to be sustained.

He added that the President has destroyed the fabrics of corruption in his removal of subsidy and floatation of the naira which he noted is making racketeers run helter-skelter in different directions insisting that the regrouping of the profiteers against a new and prosperous Nigeria will fail again in 2027 presidential election.

Specifically, he called on the President to revisit the issues surrounding the collapse of the National Shipping lines where the life board member of the PDP held sway.

“The era of subsidy is gone in Nigeria forever, and whatever the nation is going through as a result of that is temporary, and Nigerians are happy over that development.

“Rebuilding the nation for the citizens is a no hold bar and our country shall be great again. We shall campaign and win the heart of Nigerians for renewed mandate for President Tinubu.

“Oil thieves are crying, fake oil importers, and collectors of dubious oil subsidy are moaning because the noose has been tied round their jugular. We won’t go back to the era of Chief George’s ‘PDP of share the money.’

“They organised the worst elections in the history of Nigeria. PDP rode roughshod on the collective sensibilities of the citizens, and now, they are lamenting as if they fared better.

“We are enjoying this transformative administration that is instilling hope for a better nation in Nigerians. And the citizens do not need any pontificating from those who dashed our national hope in the past.”

Akpodoro called on well-meaning Nigerians to disabuse their minds from the pretence of those who brought the nation to her knees saying, President Tinubu is Nigerians’ consensus president for 2027.
