As Nigeria prepares for the 2027 general elections, the Youth Structure for Asiwaju (YS4A) is calling on young Nigerians to actively participate in two critical civic processes that will determine the trajectory of the nation’s democratic engagement: the All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
Dr. Michael Nwoko, Convener and National Coordinator of YS4A, emphasised that political influence and representation are born out of organisation, presence and active participation, not commentary alone.
YS4A’s official digital platform, www.ys4a.org , has been developed to provide direction, structure and coherence to youth involvement in the democratic process and serves as a hub for political mobilisation among Nigerians aged 18 and above.
Crucially, this platform also integrates an INEC Registration Hub to facilitate access to the official voter registration portal, “because political conviction without voter registration remains opinion, not power”, Dr Nwoko noted.
The APC e-registration exercise, now underway across the federation, is an inclusive, digital process designed to register, revalidate and strengthen the party’s internal membership database.
Party structures at the ward, local government and state levels are engaging members daily, with implementation being led by trained officials across the country.
According to Dr. Michael Nwoko, participation in this exercise gives young Nigerians a formal voice within the ruling party, enhances internal accountability, and ensures that the APC remains responsive to the aspirations of its youth base.
The e-registration also serves as a tool for planning, effective mobilisation and decision-making as the party positions itself for future electoral contests.
Dr. Nwoko stressed that the dual processes of APC e-registration and national voter registration are not separate chores but complementary democratic responsibilities.
“For the youth of Nigeria, our political journey begins with registration, both as members of our preferred party and as registered voters in our nation’s electoral system.
Participation empowers our voice. Registration turns that voice into influence and, ultimately, into the power to shape policy and leadership.”
He urged young Nigerians to visit the YS4A website immediately to access the integrated INEC registration hub, complete their APC membership e-registration, verify their voter status and, importantly, encourage peers to do the same.
“The future of Nigeria will be defined by the choices of today’s youth. Preparation starts now, not in 2027,” Dr. Nwoko remarked.
