Two of Africa’s biggest digital content creators, Peller (Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja) and Jarvis (Amadou Elizabeth Aminata), officially began their married life on Saturday after a colourful traditional wedding ceremony in Lagos.
The event, held in the upscale Lekki area, brought together family members, close friends and several celebrities as the couple completed their traditional marriage rites. Dressed in elegant Benin traditional attire, the newlyweds shared joyful moments from the ceremony on social media, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
In a joint Instagram message, the couple wrote: “Today, we become one. Two tribes, one love. Two families, one forever. A new chapter begins, and forever starts now.”
Their wedding followed weeks of anticipation from millions of followers across Africa and beyond. Before the ceremony, the pair released pre-wedding photographs and revealed they were no longer counting down because they were “starting forever.”
Peller also disclosed during a livestream that the couple plans to spend their honeymoon visiting eight countries.
Their journey to marriage has attracted widespread public attention. In June, Peller proposed to Jarvis during a romantic beachside event in Ghana, a moment that quickly went viral across social media platforms. Days later, he formally paid her bride price during a traditional introduction ceremony in Benin City.
The couple also held a civil wedding on July 29, attended by family, friends and media personality Daddy Freeze. During the ceremony, Peller amused guests with his reaction after the marriage registrar explained Nigeria’s laws against bigamy.
Ahead of their wedding, Peller revealed he had undergone private traditional pre-marital counselling in Ikorodu to prepare himself for married life and learn how to become a caring and responsible husband.
Their wedding has become one of the most talked-about entertainment events in Nigeria, drawing congratulatory messages from fans across Africa and highlighting the growing influence of African digital creators on the global stage.
