Following the directive of Delta state commissioner for Basic Education, Mr. Patrick Ukah, for lesson centres in the state to seize operation, Emerald News gathered that lesson centres in Asaba are under lock and key.
Lesson centres visited last week were closed. The operators put a sign post with the inscription ‘closed’. This medium gathered that school children who went for lesson said that they were asked to stop coming for lessons until further notice.
Some of the parents whose children go to the lesson centres in Asaba told Emerald News that they received text messages from their children’s lesson proprietors as regards waiting till further notice.
Some parents who spoke with our reporter called on the government to leave the lesson centres for exam classes to continue as they serve as supplement learning centres to the school children.
The lesson centres visited were Uncle Ken’ s lesson centres, Eagles lesson centres and others.
