The Mayor of Urhoboland, Eshanekpe Israel aka Akpodoro, has congratulated Miss Usoro Akpabio on her appointment as the Managing Director of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC). He hailed the decision as a landmark step toward sustainable development and youth empowerment in the South-South geopolitical zone.
In a statement issued in Abuja over the weekend, Akpodoro, a prominent ex-militant leader and founder of the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators (NCNDE-A), praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as “exemplary leadership” in appointing Miss Akpabio. He highlighted the appointment as a breakthrough for female representation in the region’s leadership and a strong signal of inclusive governance.
Akpodoro, who also serves as the National Coordinator of the Urhobo Youth Forum for Change (UYFC), emphasized the need to bring younger leaders into national politics, allowing them to gain experience and contribute to building a renewed national identity. He noted that the President has lived up to his commitment to youth inclusion in governance.
