Members of the Anambra Labour Party have taken to the streets of Awka to demand for the release of their gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Obiora Agbasimalo, in the just-concluded November 6th election.
He was said to have been kidnapped on September 18 on his way from Ezinifitte Nnewi South ocal government area to Azia in Ihiala l ocal government area of the state while campaigning.
The national organising secretary, Anambra Labour Party, Chief Clement Ojukwu, in November called on Agbasimalo’s abductors to set him free as the election had come to an end.
“Mr. Agbasimelo has not been set free by his kidnappers till date and his absence greatly affected the Labour Party and the morale of its teeming supporters.
“On behalf of our great Labour Party, our teeming supporters and his wife, children and family, we humbly and most passionately appeal and beg the kidnappers to kindly set him free.
“We kindly appeal to the abductors to release him to rejoin his troubled family and traumatised wife and children after a very long hostage and exclusion from the rest of humankind,” Chief Ojukwu stressed.
