The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of research and planning, Moses Ambakina Jitoboh, visited the Delta state police command where he encouraged the officers and men to be courageous and not allow miscreants to attack them.
In a statement by Bright Edafe, public relations officer of the Delta state police command, the Deputy Inspector General of Police who is also the theatre commander operation restore peace, South South zone, lectured the officers on the need to be vigilant and courageous.
Officers present to welcome the DIG included the AIG Zone 5 headquarters Benin City, AIG Isaac Akinmoyede, the commissioner of police, Delta state command CP Ari Muhammed Ali, officers and men of the state command.
The DIG had an emotional and soul searching lecture with officers and men of the command.
The slogan “NEVER AGAIN” was echoed by all officers and was indeed a big morale booster to the confidence of the men, which signaled an end to the killings of police officers and burning down of police facilities and public properties.
He said the IGP Usman Baba Alkali has directed all DIGs of the various geopolitical zones to go round their zones and boost the morale of their men, which happens to be his main reason for the visit to the command.
He advised officers to be proactive and beware of their environment at all times. Never again should they fold their hands and allow miscreants to attack them.
He assured all that modalities have been put in place to ensure that the welfare of the police is improved, and that the IGP is determined to see that police officers in the country are motivated.
The commissioner of Police Delta state CP Ari Muhammed Ali seized the opportunity to extend the command profound gratitude to the Inspector general of police IGP Alkali Usman Baba, who deemed it necessary to deploy personnel to the command during this present predicament through operation restore peace.
He said the men deployed have
in no small way added to the security architecture of the state. The power packed lecture ended at about 1300hours.
