The Delta State Police Command has paid a condolence visit to the family of the man who was recently shot dead by Inspector Ebri Ubi in Asaba.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ari Ali, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Johnson Adenola, paid a condolence visit to the family in company of the police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, Asaba Area Commander and others, Daily Post reported.

Earlier in the week, Insp. Ubi shot and killed the man identified as Onyeka Ibe for refusing to give a bribe of N100 in Asaba, the state capital.

Adenola said late Onyeka was well known to many officers of the Command and a good friend of the Police whose death was highly regrettable.

He asserted that there is no justification of the actions of Inspector Ubi and following the arrest by the police, he will answer for his indiscretions.

In the same breath, he assured the family that the AIG, Ari Mohammed Ari, is adamant that justice will be served after the conclusion of the internal disciplinary process which had already commenced after which the culprit would be arraigned without delay.

The family thanked the force for the visit and restated that they hope that the command will dispense justice for their son.
