Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Senegal on winning the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
It would be recalled that on Sunday, Senegal defeated Egypt 4-2 on penalties to win tournament.
The final match between Senegal and Egypt had ended in a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes.
However, Mane scored the winning penalty against Egypt to ensure Senegal won their first AFCON.
Describing the match as a nail-biting game, Atiku Abubakar said Mane’s penalty was the only thing that separated Senegal and Egypt.
He wrote via his Twitter page, wrote:
“What a nail-biting game. Nothing separated Egypt and Senegal but the #Mane penalty. Congratulations to Senegal #AFCON2021.”
