Barcelona have completed the signing of German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth €29 million, including potential add-ons, as the Spanish champions continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the Catalan club until June 30, 2031. He becomes Barcelona’s second major signing of the summer following the arrival of England international Anthony Gordon.
Adeyemi’s pace, versatility and ability to play across the front line are expected to add fresh attacking options for Barcelona after the departure of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski. The club also lost Marcus Rashford, who returned to Manchester United after the expiration of his loan spell.
Barcelona remain active in the transfer market and are reportedly pursuing Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez as another key attacking target.
Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 and scored 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions during his four seasons with the German club. He also made his Germany debut under current Barcelona coach Hansi Flick in 2021.
The move is expected to strengthen Barcelona’s bid to defend domestic honours and compete for European success in the upcoming season.
