The Bible Society of Nigeria [BSN] is set to host the grand finale of the 11th edition of its annual essay competition/national symposium for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) across the country.
The top six Youth Corps members in the written segment of the competition held in June 2022, will defend their entries at the symposium taking place at the Bible Guest House Research & Development Centre, Lagos on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
According to a signed statement from the faith-based organisation by the Manager, Media & Public Relations, BSN, Benjamin Mordi, the programme will be chaired by the Managing Consultant, BIC Consultancy Services, Dr. Boniface Chizea.
It read, “Through this competition, the BSN has been proffering solutions to the socio-economic and political challenges confronting the country, using biblical and intellectual approaches. The topic of this year’s edition is: “Re-engineering the Nigerian System for Sustainable Development.”
It further stated,, “The winner of the competition as well as the second and third runners-up will go home with a laptop each, a copy of the Bible and management books while the three others will each receive a smart phone, a copy of the Bible, and management books as consolation prizes.”
The Bible Society of Nigeria is a not-for-profit interdenominational Christian organisation that translates the Bible into Nigerian languages, publishes, distributes, raises funds for the Bible work as well as organises programmes that engage people with the word of God to transform their lives. So far, the BSN has translated the complete Bible into 26 Nigerian Languages while the translation/revision is on-going in 10 Nigerian Languages.
