In a thunderous 48-hour crackdown across three states, Nigerian troops have snatched 11 kidnapped victims from the jaws of death and cuffed 21 suspects including terrorists, collaborators, and drug pushers in a sweeping operation that dealt a heavy blow to criminal networks.
The coordinated strikes, executed under Operations HADIN KAI, Fansan Yamma, and MESA between July 21–22, also unearthed and obliterated deadly IEDs planted to maim soldiers and civilians alike.
Key breakthroughs:
· Borno: 3 ISWAP logistics suppliers arrested near New Abbaram—intercepted supplies included groundnut oil, kola nuts, salt, and 76 sachets of coconut flavoring destined for terrorists. Two teenage girls escaped from the Grazah terrorist enclave and surrendered to troops. IEDs along Dambua-Bulabulin-Kumala and Cross Kauwa-Kekeno-Monguno roads were safely detonated.
· Monguno: 12 drug peddlers nabbed in hideout raids cannabis, tramadol, and other illicit substances seized.
· Zamfara: Along Gambada-Gummi-Sokoto road, troops stormed terrorists, forcing them to flee and abandon 11 hostages and a motorcycle.
· Kogi: A terrorist informant working for kingpin “Kachallah Babangida” was arrested, along with 3 other suspects in Adavi and Lokoja. Two logistics couriers hauling food, drinks, and cigarettes for terrorists were also cuffed.
· Ondo: Manhunt underway for 2 abducted victims in Owo—troops recovered a bicycle and charcoal bags abandoned by a fleeing supplier.
The military’s message is clear: terror logistics networks are crumbling, and the noose is tightening.
