Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday announced his resignation as the leader of the ruling party.
According to New Telegraph and other multiple sources, including PM News, Senator Adamu resigned his position on the orders of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Correspondingly, the National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore also tendered his resignation minutes after.
It would be recalled that Adamu, former Governor of Nasarawa State has been facing numerous battles since the party won the presidential election on February 25, 2023.
According to the paper, reliable sources within the ruling party and the presidency said that Adamu “resigned on the orders of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
It was also gathered authoritatively that all members of the NWC ” are on the same page” regarding the compulsory resignation of the national chairman and his secretary, Omisore.
The NWC members are also said to be miffed by the alleged lack of transparency in the party’s 2022 account audit, which they said was “surreptitiously secured and submitted without any of the members appending their signature.
