Embattled Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state is currently in Port Harcourt on a consultation with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. This is in furtherance of his planned defection to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to contest for his second term as governor of Edo state.
Obaseki was disqualified by the APC screening committee on Friday, citing some inconsistencies his academic certificate and NYSC certificate. However, many Nigerians are blaming Oshiomhole as the brain behind his disqualification due to the crisis between the two of them.
Obaseki had earlier twitted thus: “I appreciate the sustained show of solidarity, support and goodwill from Edo people and Nigerians in the face of injustice by the @OfficialAPCNg screening committee. I will be making my next move known after I complete consultations with my supporters and meet with @MBuhari”
Governor Wike in the meeting was quoted calling for electoral reforms in Nigeria.
