Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has appointed Rt. Hon Ovie Festus Agas, from Delta Central as chief of staff, Government House, Asaba.

Ovie Festus Agas

Agas was former Secretary to the State Government in the first term of the governor. In the first half of the second term, he was chief strategies to the state government  before the state executive council was sacked a.month ago.

Prior to dissolution of the state executive council, Agas was in the race for the 2023 governorship.

During a press briefing by Okowa, he told journalists that the dissolution was to avoid distractions from those pursuing 2023 ambition.

It was then believed the dissolution was to remove those eyeing 2023 governorship. One cannot tell why Agas was reappointed, perhaps he may have dropped the 2023 ambition.
