The Federal high court in Abuja on Tuesday June 29, confined Nnamdi kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the custody of Department of State Services, DSS.
Instablog9ja reported that Justice Binta Nyako ordered the restraint based on an application that was brought in by the Federal Government.
The acclaimed leader of the proscribed secessionists group, Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, was re-arrested on Sunday June 27, 2021.
Addressing the media at a joint media briefing of the Department of State Services and the Police, Nigeria’s Justice Minister and Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, said he was ‘intercepted’ on Sunday 27, June.
Justice Binta said that the IPOB Leader who was apprehended outside with the help of interpol should remain in custody till July 26, 2021, when his trail will resume.
The Justice Minister said Kanu has been returned to Nigeria to face his 11-count charge bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, illegal possession of firearms, among others.
Kanu’s eyes were veiled during his court appearance.
