Unknown gunmen whose identity is yet to be ascertained on Tuesday morning stormed the University of Abuja the nation’s capital and kidnapped some staff of the university.
The hoodlums broke into the campus, shooting into the air before abducting their victims which include some members of staff and their relatives
According to DAILY POST, Josephine Adeh, the Abuja police public relations officer, confirmed the abduction.
Emerald News reports that as at the time of filing this report, the number of kidnapped persons is yet to be ascertained.
Daily Post further reports that not less than six persons were kidnapped and forced into the forest.
Available reports indicate that the Abuja Commissioner of Police, Babaji Sunday had dispatched additional tactical and conventional policing resources to the university’s main and satellite campuses, as well as the staff quarters and other affiliate formations of the university.
