Buhari, other top political leaders violate COVID-19 protocols at his son’s marriage in Kano state

President Muhammadu Buhari and other top political officers who stormed Bichi in Kano State for his son, Yusuf’s wedding, violated the COVID-19 protocol as advised by health experts.

In a video shared by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity on his verified Facebook page, DAILY POST observed that there was no social distancing which is one of the key guidelines established in a bid to curtail spread of the dreaded virus.

DAILY POST had reported that Yusuf on Friday, wedded his heartthrob, Zahra Bayero, the daughter of Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi in Kano State.

The wedding, which seized global attention on Friday was attended by President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Other dignitaries in attendance include former President, Goodluck Jonathan; former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; former Niger President, Mahamadiu Isoufou.

Also in attendance are the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni; Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, Femi Fani-Kayode, amongst others.

DAILY POST reports that the development is coming when the daily cases of COVID-19 Delta variant is on the increase across the country.

Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC on Thursday announced over one thousand cases recorded in at least 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
