BVAS reconfiguration: INEC, APC plotting to thwart evidence of vote manipulations – Former presidential campaign director says

Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign director, Alaboso Joejim, has reacted to the decision of the Appeal Court to grant INEC request to reconfigure the BVAS used in the last presidential election. In a short interview with Emerald News, he says there’s a game plan behind INEC request.
Excerpts:

What’s your reaction to the decision of the court of appeal with regard to granting INEC’s request to reconfigure the BVAS?

It does not come as a surprise to me, because the Nigeria political elites are yet to comprehend the impending revolution that is ahead of us as a nation. They and their enablers in our court system still believe in the status quo because they never believe in the idea that government is beholden to us the citizen and that they have no other source of power except through us the sovereign people.

What do you think will be the implication of reconfiguring the BVAS? Don’t you think data in the BVAS would be tampered with?

The implication is obvious, INEC has consistently changed the goalpost in the middle of the game. They did it in the presidential election and changed their own procedure of how the election will be conducted.

They did not follow the procedure which is against the law, even as the agents of political parties’ protest before the entire world to the embarrassment of our nation but they don’t seem to care because they believe they can get away with.

Why is it that immediately after the aggrieved parties asked the court to compel INEC to allow them to review the BVAS they now remember that they need to reconfigure the BVAS, even to the layman it looks suspicious, to say the least.

Do you think INEC is sincere in its explanation that the data in the BVAS are secured after reconfiguring the device?

I honestly do not believe anything INEC says anymore. We all witnessed the INEC chairman’s presentation to the world at Chatham House in London none of his promises was followed.

Do you not foresee a foul play from INEC to attempt thwarting the victory of Peter Obi in the election with the reconfiguring process?

Yes, I do. They know what the outcome will be and that was the reason their enabler the court aided them in this ridiculous decision.

Don’t you think there’s a collaboration between INEC and APC to frustrate Obi in the litigation process?

That was the whole idea.

With previous experiences and the observed game plan of INEC, do you see Obi getting victory from the court?

Obi will be victorious at the end of the day irrespective of their plot. Nigerians and particularly the youth who have been yearning for the rebirth of Nigeria will be victorious.

What advice do you have for Obi arising from the decision of the court?

PETER GREGORY OBI, is the Nehemiah of our time. It is on him the New Nigeria we are yearning for will be rebuilt. We will actualize our mission of a generational leadership change in Nigeria, and our man with a proven track record will take his rightful place, as the president of Nigeria. The labour of our heroes’ past, shall never be in vain. God bless Nigeria.
