Voters in Ughelli North,Ward 11 stationed at Ekiugbo town hall has been left hopeless as they were not allowed to carry out their votes effectively.
A witness who spoke on anonymity revealed that different top party agents were trying to bribe some of Peter Obi’s supporters with cash to vote for them but they stayed on the decision of a better Nigeria,rejected the money and insisted on voting their conscience.
When asked about the supposed security officials assigned to the unit, he said they left before the incident took place.
However things took a turn when alleged Ekuigbo hoodlums attacked and drove the voters away with matchets,woods and bottles.
”They scattered the ballot boxes,threw the papers away just beause they saw that a lot of persons were voting for Peter Obi”
Another source said prior to the incident, fights had engulfed three times earlier.
Emerald news learnt that soldiers came to place and left after the incident had occurred, as at 5:22pm when this report was filed,the voters in the unit were yet to vote and the previous votes are null and void.
