Prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Emma Ejiofor, Ph.D., has issued a strong statement backing the administrative actions of the APC Delta North Chairman, Adizue Eluaka, commending his efforts to maintain peace and stability within the party.
In an address to members of the party in Delta North, Chief Ejiofor expressed deep concern over the opposition being mounted by a small faction within the party against a decision reportedly made with the consultation of over 5,000 members.
“It is disheartening to witness a situation where a decision, seemingly reached after broad deliberation, is being challenged by a small minority,” he said.
While acknowledging the rights of members to express dissent, Ejiofor stressed the importance of respecting the will of the majority and adhering strictly to the party’s constitution and processes.
He particularly directed his message to seven local government APC chairmen, urging them to reconsider their actions and issue a formal apology for what he described as a disruption of party unity.
“Such actions undermine the democratic values we hold dear and sow discord within our ranks,” Ejiofor warned.
Chief Ejiofor also took aim at some senior party members allegedly supporting the dissent for personal gain. He cautioned them against allowing ambition or financial inducements to overshadow the broader interests of the party.
“Let us not allow money or misplaced impunity to undermine our democratic values,” he stated firmly.
Chief Ejiofor called for renewed commitment to fairness, transparency, and internal cohesion within the APC, saying, “Our strength lies in our unity, and our success depends on our ability to work together for the common good of the APC in Delta North.”
Chief Ejiofor, the Onishe of Ubulu, is a respected voice in the APC and a longstanding advocate for democratic principles within party structures.
