Church building collapse in Asaba: Police release official death record as rescue operation ends

Against the speculated number of death recorded in the unfortunate church collapse in Okpanam, a suburb of Asaba, the Delta state police command has released thr number of deaths recorded in the incident.

According to DSP Bright Edafe, the state police public relations officer, only three persons died which include two female children and one woman.

The short statement released is reproduced below:

BUILDING COLLAPSE IN OKPANAM ROAD

Rescue Operation is over, 18 person rescued initially, four person’s discharged, 11 persons still receiving treatment, three deaths recorded which includes two female children and one woman, their names unknown for now, kindly debunk the rumours making rounds that ten people died, that’s not correct.

There has been speculattion that 10 people died in the Salvation Ministry church building collapse, but the police statement has laid that to rest.
