Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District, has expressed strong optimism that 2026 will mark a year of renewed hope, progress, and development for the people of Delta Central and the Urhobo Nation.
In a New Year message issued on January 1, 2026, the senator said emerging economic indicators suggest that the year ahead would be significantly better than 2025.
He noted that while challenges remain, the district has made measurable progress over time, reinforcing his confidence in a more prosperous future.
“We may not yet be exactly where we aspire to be as a people, but we are certainly not where we used to be,” Dafinone said, emphasizing the resilience and determination of the people of Delta Central.
The lawmaker urged residents, particularly those in rural communities, to remain focused and industrious, describing their businesses and traditional occupations as critical drivers of local growth and economic stability.
Senator Dafinone also highlighted the current alignment between the Delta State Government and the Federal Government as a strategic advantage that could accelerate development across the state.
According to him, effective collaboration between both levels of government could translate into tangible benefits for Delta Central.
