Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has congratulated the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, on his 60th birthday, describing his life as one marked by distinguished public service, leadership and commitment to national unity and development.
In a goodwill message to mark the occasion, Dafinone said he joined the Vice President’s family, colleagues and Nigerians across the country in celebrating the milestone.
The senator, who spoke on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, praised Shettima’s journey from the banking sector into public service.
Dafinone noted that Shettima’s service as Governor of Borno State, Senator representing Borno Central and now Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria reflected a life dedicated to service and responsibility.
He particularly commended the Vice President’s leadership during his tenure as governor of Borno State, a period he said was characterised by significant security and socio-economic challenges.
According to Dafinone, Shettima demonstrated courage, resilience and a willingness to serve the country during difficult times.
“As he marks his 60th birthday, I commend the Vice President for the wisdom, experience and commitment he continues to bring to the service of our country and for his important role in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Dafinone said.
The Delta Central senator expressed confidence that Shettima’s experience in governance, public administration and economic affairs would continue to contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economy, deepening national unity and promoting sustainable development.
Dafinone said Nigeria required purposeful and inclusive leadership anchored on the national interest, adding that the Vice President’s experience remained valuable to the country’s development aspirations.
He prayed for Shettima to enjoy many more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment, while continuing to serve Nigeria.
Dafinone also prayed for divine guidance, protection, strength and sound judgment for the Vice President in the discharge of his responsibilities.
“May Almighty God continue to guide and protect him, grant him strength and sound judgment in the discharge of his responsibilities, and bless him with many more years in which to contribute to the peace, unity and prosperity of Nigeria,” the senator said.
He wished the Vice President a happy 60th birthday on behalf of the people of Delta Central Senatorial District.
