As the race towards 2023 governorship election gathers momentum in Delta State, a United States based group known as Urhobo Historical Society (UHS) said it would massively mobilize Deltans for Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, leading gubernatorial aspirant in the state.
The group made the statement over the weekend during a zoom conference with its Nigerian associates spread across Lagos, Abuja, Warri, Port Harcourt and Ibadan.
Members of the group held strongly that if merit and suitability for office were the absolute criteria for choosing the next governor of the state, Olorogun Gbagi has no rival in the race.
The group promised to set strategies in place for a mass mobilization of Deltans towards ensuring that Gbagi’s gubernatorial ambition was achieved come 2023.
They promised to provide a manifesto of strategic goals and vision that would complement Gbagi’s plans for a total rescue of the state from the throes of underdevelopment and backwardness.
They asserted that owing to the current precarious state of the economy, which they described is in comatose state, only a candidate of Olorogun Gbagi’s stature could provide the imminent economic transformation to salvage the situation.
Meanwhile, the group pointed out that Gbagi’s reputation is second to none due to his very rich Curriculum Vitae which they described as intimidating.
They maintained that he remains prominent in the race, just as they reiterated that Gbagi has no competitor as far as the race is concerned.
The group eulogized Olorogun Gbagi for his astuteness, entrepreneural genius, managerial capacity and philanthropy.
They pointed out that Gbagi has the key to unlock the state from the yokes of poverty, youth unemployment, infrastructural decay and general stagnation.
