Numerous Ijaw, Urhobo Itsekiri and Ndokwa groups, including ex-agitators in Delta state have endorsed the governorship ambition of former minister of state for education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, mandating him to go for 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship ticket.

The seal of endorsement across the three senatorial districts came concurrently at a get together for members of Gbagi Solidarity Movement, GSM, at Oginibo, Ughelli South kocal government area of the state.

Leader of Ndokwa group from Delta North senatorial district, Comrade Bright Enuesike, declared: “Urhobo, you people have chosen the right candidate. Urhobo, I support Kenneth Gbagi’s 2023. Support him, we have already decided to work for Gbagi. Anywhere Gbagi is going to, that is where we are equally going to in Ndokwa nation.”

Isoko team leader from Delta South senatorial district, Oscar Akpojene, gave details: “He is a man of vision, he is a bank of wisdom that will take Delta state to the next level. We, the Isokos, are for Gbagi. He is ahead, the Isoko nation is solidly behind him”

Also speaking, an Ijaw leader, Chief Yusuf Eregbene, who steered Ijaws from Delta South senatorial district to the get-together, asserted: “We, from the Ijaw nation, believe that the governorship of the state is rotational and that 2023 is for Urhobo nation. Because it is the turn of the Urhobo nation, Olorogun Gbagi is the flag bearer and he will be the next governor of Delta state.”

Chiefs Nikoro, an Urhobo leader from Delta Central senatorial district, extolled the leadership qualities of Gbagi and why Urhobo prefer him to govern the state than any other contender.

Ex-agitators, through self-styled “General” Figbele, enjoined Urhobo people and other Deltans to queue behind Gbagi, whom they described as a truthful person with vast knowledge of entrepreneurship.

Samson Oristeweyimi, who marshaled an assembly of youths under the auspices of Ejele Advance Team, EAT, Sapele, working for Itsekiri political leader and chairman, Delta State Oil Minerals Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Michael Diden, aka Ejele, said they were in support of Gbagi’s 2023 governorship quest.

Elder statesman and leader of Gbagi Solidarity Group, GSM, Chief E.D.O Obofukoro, in his address at the occasion, said: “Incumbent governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has worked so hard, he has put the state on high pedestal, so it is necessary that we put somebody who can adequately protect what he has done and improve on it.”

“I have blessed the foremost industrialist to take over from the incumbent because I know that at the moment, he is the only one who can adequately step into the shoes the governor will leave behind come May 29, 2023.

“Delta wants nothing but the best. If it is not Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, it cannot be anyone else. He is the man who is adequately fitted to carry Delta to the next stage beyond where Okowa has carried it. He is coming to project Delta,” the elder statesman added.

Chairman, planning committee of the event, Chief Solomon Ala, stated: “Olorogun Gbagi, is a man specially created to bless Urhobo nation, he is the man among the aspirants and other ones are boys. I want to appeal to you, do not have doubt in your minds. God has chosen him, do not mind what other people tell you, please, stand by him”.

He charged the mammoth crowd to be part of the movement to enthrone Gbagi by doing all their possible best to preach the Gbagi governorship sermon until he is sworn in come 2023.

In a goodwill message, a GSM faithful, Mr. Guy Galloway, disclosed that after weighing all the aspirants, he came to a conclusion that Gbagi remains the most vibrant, tested and proven aspirant to pilot the affairs of the state at a time like this.

“This man does not lie, our future and that of our children have been tampered and because I am a Deltan, I know what is good for me and my children. Go and dust your voter’s card and get ready because Kenneth Gbagi will be the candidate,” he said.

Galloway, who disclosed that all the aspirants were his friends, noted: “But I put them on a scale and I found out that the only man that is fit for the job is Kenneth Gbagi. He will do a lot of things to better the lot of Delta.”

His words: “Go out there and tell your family and the people that we should make the right choice that will make Delta State the right place to be”

Also, another political weight in the party, Chief Mrs. Doris Okogbe, called on women to get ready and shun every form of fear for them to take the campaign to all nooks and crannies of the state.

Meanwhile, a group known as Delta Arise Girl Initiative, presented an award to the gubernatorial hopeful for his achievements.
