Delta APC dead, defectors did the right thing – Defected APC chieftain says

A spokesperson to the one of the defectors to the Peoples Democratic Party at the PDP mega rally held in Asaba and former chairman of the Delta State All Progressive Congress (APC),Chief Cyril Ogodo, has described APC as a completely dead and moribund party Delta state.

Chief Akpodiete stated this while reacting to a publication by the APC media and publicity department that those who defected to PDP had no political relevance and that they were mere noise makers.

In a statement made available to newsmen, Chief Akpodiete said that APC in the state lacked the needed credentials and human resources to win any elections.

Chief Akpodiete noted that the state government under the PDP leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the state party chairman, Olorogun (Barr.) Kingsley Esiso had continued to provide succour to Deltans through good governance, youths and women empowerment as well as massive infrastructural development across the state.

While saying that the APC would continue to feel the impacts of many of its chieftains including himself who defected to the ruling party, Chief Akpodiete noted that rather than pitching their tents with a dead party like the APC it was imperative for them to decamp to PDP in order to contribute their quota towards strengthening PDP for more victories in 2023 and beyond.

He admitted that the government of PDP has turned the fortune of Delta state around for good which they in APC earlier thought was impossible, as they were all wallowing in ignorance thinking they would be bringing positive changes to the system at federal and states, but the reverse is the case.

” We left APC because our leaders failed us. Chief Cyril Ogodo singlehandedly went round the state and established the APC structures. We thought that those at the top will bring changes to the system but what did Nigerians get in return? It’s pains and anguish.

” It is only a foolish person who will see that the house is collapsing and remain inside until he dies there. I can assure you that APC in the country is dead and can not resurrect. You can see the good work of PDP across the country. All the governors in PDP states are doing well,” he pointed out.

Chief Akpodiete urged all Nigerians, especially the very few Deltans who are still in the dead party to urgently embrace PDP by enthroning good leaders at the top including the states, and local government areas to stop this madness of insecurity and economic downturn which this APC government can no longer curtail.
