The Ika Northeast local government council of Delta state has imposed curfew in Ute kingdom The declaration was announced by the chairman of the local government Area, Hon. Barr. Victor Ebonka, in a press briefing Monday, November 23, 2020 at his office in Owa-Oyibu. According to the chairman, the curfew which was with the approval of the state government, affects mostly, Ute-Ukpu kingdom following the unruly behaviour of the youths wherein they maliciously damaged properties and also threatening the life of their king, chiefs and traditional institution, owing to their fetish belief on the recent incident of strange decease which has claimed lots of lives. He noted that the curfew commences today being Monday from 6pm to 6am, until further notice. Meanwhile, he enjoined all citizens to comply with the Government directive, as the law enforcement agents will not hesitate to arrest defaulters of the order.
