BY ROSEMARY NWAEBUNI
In line with the effort to reposition the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta North, a nine-man reconciliation committee has been inaugurated to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party.

Inaugurating the members of the committee at the Delta North Senatorial District office in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta state, the chairman of the party in the district, Moses Iduh revealed that in closeness to party leaders and faithful followers, observed that a good number of them in virtually all wards and local government areas were aggrieved.

Iduh, while noting that some of the grievances were a result of the fallout from the recent congresses conducted by the party and anxiety of not securing political appointments and other forms of empowerment, said such scenario was capable of compromising the peace and unity of the party in the district.

He said, in line with Chapter 4, part V (2a) of the PDP constitution, the party deemed it fit and proper to constitute a nine man reconciliation committee with the mandate to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party in the nine LGAs in the district.

The committee, chaired by HE, Rt. Hon. Prince Sam Obi had Barr. Bridget Anyafulu, Chief Samuel Akom, Evelyn Elogwu, Chief Barr. Zealiwe Ojeogwu, Dr. Austin Obidi, Pharm. Paul Enebeli and Hon. Fred Ofume as members while Sir Emmanuel Eboh would function as scribe to the committee.

The chairman in an acceptance speech on behalf of the committee members thanked the PDP Delta North Senatorial Chairman for the confidence reposed in them to serve the party and promised not to fail the party on the onerous task bestowed on them.

He assured the committee’s diligent and painstaking commitment in carrying out the assignment of reconciling all aggrieved members of the party across Delta North Senatorial District without fear or favour, even as he sought the Chairman’s availability for occasional consultation in the course of carrying out the assignment.

Dignitaries present at the inauguration were PDP South-South Zonal Executive, Dcn. Chux Nwaebuni; PDP State Secretary, Chief Obi Nzete; PDP Chairman, Oshimili South LGA, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji; Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Fidelis Tilije; Chief Godswill Obielum; Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Ochor and Prof. Ikechukwu Ewenwa.
