Many people in Delta seem not to understand the man Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP. Prior to his emergence as candidate of the SDP, Gbagi has designed a development blueprint for Delta state.
One thing we need to understand is that Gbagi is a man who stands by his words. Gbagi will not speak and fail to bring his promise to fruition. He has said and continue to say that he will turn Delta to an investment destination. He has said he will transform every sector of the state economy. He has said resources in every local government will be harnessed to develop each council area and make them self-reliant.
He has said every part of Delta will feel the impact of his government. He has said that his administration will build industries that will create jobs for all unemployed youths in the state. He has said every unemployed youth will receive N30,000 monthly until he secures a job in the state. Gbagi said he will collect statistics of all unemployed youths in the state and set up firms to accommodate everyone.
Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi has a development blueprint that will accommodate every Deltan of working age. He is bent on employing the resources in the state to build infrastructure for the benefit of everyone. Gbagi knows that there is so much money in the state but our present leaders have refused to deploy the funds into life transforming projects that will benefit the masses<span;><span;>.
Gbagi, a founding member of the People’s Democratic Party and a former minister of state for education, is well aware that Delta is endowed with resources that can turn people’s lives around for good. The industrialisation plan is aimed at building infrastructure that will make all residents in Delta have access to the good things of life.
The industrialisation plan of Gbagi is a project that will make Delta the envy of other states in Nigeria. There are so many industry plans which Gbagi has put together. Besides creating new industries, Gbagi is aiming at reviving all moribund and dead industries in the state.
There are many industries that have been abandoned for different parochial reasons in the state. Such industries include the leather factory at Issele Uku which was established by Emmanuel Uduaghan’s government, the textile mill factory in Asaba and a lot of others.<span;><span;> The plywood factory in Sapele is also dead. Gbagi is determined to revive all these firms, employ youths and create means of livelihood for them.
He is displeased that in the midst of plenty in Delta, more that 50 percent of Deltans and others are living in poverty and have no food to eat. It is unthinkable for him to see men, women and youths struggling to find means of survival in a state which he said is richer that 40 countries in the world. But our present leaders have always told the people that the state has no money to take care of their needs.
They freight the state wealth to foreign lands, they build institutions in first world countries and contribute to the growth of foreign economies while their home states and people pine away, groaning in poverty and want. This is one thing Gbagi has planned to stop. And being a disciplined man, he has the political will to bring that to actuality.
Gbagi is indeed putting machineries in motion to ensure that every youth of employable age in his administration has a job after graduation. And for the fact that Gbagi is an incorruptible man, funds for these projects will not be difficult to source. The problem we have in government is diversion of funds meant to execute projects, making the projects either getting abandoned or not getting executed at all.
In Gbagi’s administration every contractor must execute projects according to specification. A situation where project funds are shared and contractors allowed to go or execute shoddy projects will not be part of his administration.
In the plan of Gbagi, Delta will be an industrial estate where everyone will be engaged in production both for consumption and commercial purposes. For Gbagi who has visited some of the industrialized nations, his vision is to replicate same in the state. And for the actualisation of these lofty ideas, Deltans must rise in unison and vote for Olorogun<span;> Barrister Kenneth Gbagi for governor.
Deltans need to see Gbagi as the man needed to bring to fruition the dream of a great Delta. This is a Delta where everyone has a sense of belonging, where everyone will feel the impact of government. A mistake in voting a wrong candidate for whatever reason may lead to more pains and sufferings for Deltans. It’s time to be wise and it’s time to vote wisely.
