It was another major breakthrough for the Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi’s governorship race as the paramount king of Ughievwen, the Okobaro of Ughievwen kingdom, told members of his council of chiefs and the entire kingdom to go and work for the emergence of their illustrious son.

The Okobaro spoke on Saturday August 13th 2022, during a warm reception accorded the Social Democratic Party (SDP) guber candidate at his Palace in Ughievwen, Ughelli south local government area of Delta state.

The traditional ruler who noted that after his prayers for the industrialist, the people should go and work, prayed that the gubernatorial ambition of the former minister of state for education, would see the light of day.

“After my prayers, everybody should go and work. May it be well with you, this is the first time an Ughievwen son will be on the ballot.

“Whatever you do, may it be well with you. My prayers is for you to go and bring victory home”.

“This is our own, what you told Ughievwen, we have heard you in clear terms. Whatever we say, you have asked us to spread the news about your ambition. When we pray, we work along with it”, he stressed.

The monarch who welcomed Gbagi and his entourage to the palace, noted that he (Gbagi) is their illustrious son in whom they are proud.

“On behalf of Okobaro palace and the good people of Ughievwen kingdom, we welcome you and your entourage to the palace”, he added.

Earlier, Olorogun Gbagi, informed the monarch, the Council of Chiefs and the mammoth crowd that he is contesting the 2023 governorship election under the auspices of the Social Democratic Party.

He revealed that the platform produced MKO Abiola and Olorogun Felix Ibru, as president and governor respectively haven conducted the freest and fairest election in the country and state.

“I am the governorship candidate and that will be the first time in the history of my life to become a candidate.

“It was with SDP that Delta State ever experienced the first election which is the freest and fairest election ever conducted in Nigeria.

“Haven done what we have done, it is only right for me to come back to this palace. I am no longer an aspirant, my name as an Ughievwen son is on the ballot” he said.
