Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta state, has said that Delta state is too endowed with economic resources to the extent that no youth in the state should be seen roaming in the streets of cities and towns.
Gbagi, a man with much business acumen who has made plans to move the state from its present level, told Emerald News that with the resources in the state no youth should not be meaningfully engaged in income generating ventures.
For him, the environment has not been created for youths to explore the business opportunities in the state, hence, he said his administration, if voted into power by the good people of Delta state, would champion opportunities for youths and take all of them from the streets of Delta cities.
He agreed that there are opportunities yet untapped, noting that with his entrepreneurial eyes he would create industries that would engage all youths across the 25 local government areas of the state.
He said: “At present, there is hopelessness and despair, our youths no more have sources of income, hence they resort to yahoo business for living. Ordinarily, no youth will resort to yahoo business knowing the implication. But the environment is not created for them to live to their full potentials. Many are being arrested by the EFCC for internet fraud. This, my government would stop.
“My government will create opportunities for all youths in the state. I will give all Deltans particularly my youths, gainful employment within the first month of my administration. It is doable. All you need is to have entrepreneurial mind to understand where the issues are. I believe that Delta state is too wealthy, too gifted, so well endowed by God for us to do anything less.”
Gbagi is very much passionate over the welfare of youths. For him no youth should be without a means of living. No youth should be without job. No youth should be without job after graduation from the university or polytechnic. But there are a lot of our youths who have graduated but have no jobs. This is disheartening. His administration will put an end to this.”
To this end, Gbagi said all youths in the state must register and collect their permanent voters card and cast their votes for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 governorship election. He said this is the only part youth need to play and the rest is left for him.
