Senate President Godswill Akpabio has urged FCT minister, Nyesom Wike to disregard criticisms from Senator Ireti Kingibe and concentrate on delivering key infrastructure projects.
Akpabio made the comment at the commissioning of the Kugbo Bus Terminal.
Kingibe had berated Wike, stressing that the FCT minister is not focused on key areas like security, health care and education.
She also accused Akpabio of ignoring Wike’s incompetence because the FCT minister is his friend.
Responding to Kingibe’s criticisms, Akpabio said, “A lot of people will say things. I saw a legislator on television mentioning that she was not carried along.
“Well, she is a member of the Senate, and when a decision is taken, she is bound by that decision. Please ignore every distraction and be rest assured that no matter what you do, not everyone will praise you. Others will still try to find fault.”
He praised Wike’s transformative efforts in upgrading transportation networks, constructing abandoned roads, and developing state-of-the-art facilities, calling for continued collaboration among stakeholders and residents to protect and maintain the new facilities.
The Kugbo Bus Terminal project is expected to facilitate efficient movement, reduce traffic congestion, and improve the overall quality of life for residents in the Karu, Nyanya, and Jikwoyi axis.
