Dr. Michael Nwoko, FRSPH has been appointed South-South Zonal Coordinator for Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), adding a new regional responsibility to his political mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The appointment brings renewed attention to Nwoko’s involvement in political organisation, youth engagement and grassroots mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Nwoko serves as South-South Coordinator for Contact and Mobilisation of the City Boy Movement, a youth-oriented political organisation supporting Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. His responsibilities within the movement cover Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.
Through the City Boy Movement, Nwoko is associated with efforts to strengthen grassroots structures and expand engagement with communities across the region, where local political interests and community priorities vary from state to state.
He is also the National convener of Youth Structure for Asiwaju (YS4A), an initiative focused on youth mobilisation, political participation and encouraging young Nigerians to engage with the electoral process.
YS4A’s grassroots-oriented approach complements the objectives of his new appointment, particularly in building connections with young people and developing networks that extend beyond established political leadership.
Beyond his mobilisation activities, Dr. Michael Nwoko fondly called ‘ The Political Oshobe’ due to his grassroots mobilization prowess serves as Chief of Staff to Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District. His political and administrative experience has contributed to his public profile within Delta State and the wider South-South political environment.
The Presidential Campaign Council appointment places him in a broader regional coordination role, with grassroots engagement and mobilisation forming the central focus of his new responsibilities.
The role is expected to involve collaboration with political stakeholders and mobilisation structures across the six South-South states.
The development also highlights the importance of coordinating youth-focused initiatives such as YS4A with wider regional mobilisation platforms such as the City Boy Movement.
As political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to develop, Nwoko’s new role places him within the wider effort to organise grassroots engagement across the South-South.
Dr. Michael Nwoko expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty and President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for the appointment, promising to deliver promptly and above board on the national assignment.
The Presidential Campaign Council will be Inaugurated at the Presidential Villa on October 14, 2026
