The quest for survival cum hustle to meet up with life’s expenses no doubt can make you alien to your kids. No one expects you to stay at home 24/7 with your kids just to spend quality time with them. So what can you do to bridge the gap?
Kids these days are either entrusted into the care of nannies, maids and in most cases the kids belong to their mothers. These caregivers also need personal time, so the kids are either given electronic gadgets or are given to cartoon networks cartooning their day away.
I really think we should all calm down and squeeze out quality time with the kids. They have a lot of questions to ask you and chances are that you have the answer to them. Thank God for Sundays. You probably have your Saturday booked. No worries. How about Sundays?
Will it be difficult to spend your Sundays with the kids? I know you might want to rest from the previous week’s stress and unwind, as well, prepare for the week’s work. But we all have to make sacrifices. Your kids are your assets.
Lunchtime with the kids will go a long way to kick off the family bonding that has been severed over the years. You can spice the day up by taking them out on a surprise shopping. Or, you can gift them with those things they have been asking for.
I am sure your years will increase as they will embarrass you with so much love and appreciation. How about joining them to watch their favourite cartoon show and keying into the characters. Here comes the bomb.
Did you say “what” yeah! You can join them to play their favourite games. The kids need your money like oxygen but the quality time you spend with them will imprint an indelible memory n their hearts.
