The case between Sheriff Oborevwori and David Edevbie gets to a termination point today as the Supreme Court gives final verdict as to who becomes the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the forthcoming governorship election in Delta state.
The case has dragged on for over five months since May 25 when the primaries was conducted. Oborevwori was declared winner and given certificate of return by the PDP. But Olorogun David Edevbie rejected the result on the ground that Oborevwori used forged certificates for the primaries.
Since then, it has been litigation from Federal High Court to Appeal Court and now climaxing at the Supreme court today. Edevbie won at Federal High court Abuja while Oborevwori won at Appeal Court also in Abuja.
Deltans and friends of both aspirants who made up two factions of the Delta PDP are eagerly waiting for the final judgement. The final judgement will signal the beginning of actual political campaigns in Delta state. Within the next few hours the air will burst with bubbles of victory songs.
Can we guess who wins this case? It may be difficult to do so because the case is very dicey.
