Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the forthcoming Edo State governorship election has reportedly nominated the Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), Barr. Osarodion Ogie as his running mate.
Nigerian Tribune reports that this was disclosed to newsmen in Benin City on Friday by a PDP chieftain who preferred anonymity as he was not authorised by the party to speak to the press on the development.
It was gathered that Ogie’s nomination was occasioned by his popularity and wide acceptance amongst the people in Edo South, a senatorial district that is adjudged as the most populous amongst the three senatorial districts in Edo state.
The SSG is a politician, administrator, and lawyer like Dr. Ighodalo; a brilliant policy developer and renowned strategist, whose sterling contributions have heralded significant peace, stability, and progress in our body polity according to his supporters.
Ogie, during Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s administration, was a Chief Of staff and later appointed Commissioner for Ministry of Works (now Roads and Bridges) in Edo state.
