Professor Olomeruom Okonta, the proprietor of Anioma Open University, on Friday, 23 December, visited Prince Ned Nwoko, the Chancellor of Sports University, Idumuje Ugboko, and the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, in his country home, Idumuje Ugboko, to solicit that a part of the Sports University be used as one of the learning centres for the Anioma Open University.
Nwoko, who has always advocated quality education and youth empowerment, without a second thought acceded to the request.
“My goal and interests have always been to make positive impacts in the lives of people, especially the youths. To serve humanity. I have always advocated for quality education and I will always do, because, quality education is a game changer. So, for me, this is a welcome idea. You can start whenever you wish to start.” Nwoko said.
Anioma Open University, came into existence on May 27, 2017, after receiving a preliminary approval from National University Commission (NUC). It is a non-conventional University that operates on a hybrid mode; 60 percent online learning and 40 percent offline learning in study centres.
