President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to join an estimated number of 3,459,945 registered voters in Katsina State in today’s Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
In a visit to Kofar Baru (3), Buhari’s polling unit which is one of the fifteen polling units under the Sarkin Yara (A) Ward located at the Tone Quarters, Waziri road in Daura Local Government Area, Katsina State, election materials arrived at about 7:40 am.
The President is expected to cast his vote at Sarkin Yara (A) Ward located at Tone Quarters, Waziri road in Daura Local Government Area, Katsina State.
As maintained by Channels TV, INEC officials and its ad-hoc staff led by the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Yahaya Ibrahim Makarfi, and security officials are on the ground to ensure a hitch-free election.
Buhari arrived in Daura, his hometown, Katsina State on Thursday ahead of the exercise.
The presidential jet touched ground at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport at exactly 4:41 pm, ten minutes after which the jet was opened for the President and his entourage to come down and proceed to Daura on a white helicopter.
Governor Aminu Masari, some members of his cabinet comprising the State Chief Judge, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, Commissioner of Health, Engineer Yakubu Nuhu Danja as well as heads of various security agencies were on the ground at the airport to welcome the number one citizen at the Airport.
