A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Amai Ward 6 in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta state, Mr. Rueben Onuwa Chisunum, has enjoined indigenes and residents of the kingdom to vote for the party’s candidates in the 2023 general elections.
Chisunum, who spoke during a ward rally held last Sunday under the aegis of Team Rueben, assured that the party would adequately address the aspirations of the people after winning the elections.
He said that the rally was necessitated by the need to create awareness about the coming elections and also solicit support of the electorate to enable the PDP to consolidate its popularity and dominance in the locality.
He advised them to secure their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and wisely use same on election days to cast their ballot for our party “which is most suitable and strong enough to meet whatever challenges our people are facing at the moment”
He described the large turnout of party members and supporters at the rally as successful and peaceful, despite the sponsorship of some youths in the area allegedly by certain PDP ward leaders to disorganize it.
While he expressed regrets over “the unjustified opposition” of some PDP leaders in the locality to the rally, he, however, expressed hope in the party’s ability to win the five elective positions in the next elections.
“We are working for the success of our party’s slogan of five over five in Amai. That is Atiku-Okowa joint presidential ticket, Sheriff/Onyeme governorship ticket, Prince Ned Nwoko for Senate, Nnamdi Ezechi for House of Representatives, and Ogbuefi Chukudi Dafe for Delta State House of Assembly”, he emphasised.
The rally, held under the aegis of Team Rueben in the five communities, moved from Umuekum to Amainge, Umuosele, Umubu and terminated at Ishikaguma.
