Extreme Global Poverty: Summit Canvasses Implementation Of Holistic Development Goals

Stakeholders in government and non governmental organizations, from across various continents, operating within the spheres of global recognition, have decried high poverty level, especially in Africa and other developing nations and called for an urgent need to implement an holistic sustainable development goals to reduce its negative impacts on world populations.

Making the call in a Communiqué issued at end of a crucial Summit with the theme; “Harnessing the gains of Global Diplomacy and Peaceful Coexistence: The Role of International Organizations”, held recently in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the participants reaffirmed believe in workability of development goals declared by the United Nations in eradicating poverty.

Other issues addressed in the Communique during the Global Diplomacy Summit, tagged ‘Canada 2024’, organized by Ambassador Jaygbes Napoleon Ogbole, the Country Director for the International Society of Diplomats in Canada, was the concerns raised on climate change and the need to have a deliberate and intentional plan action that must be supported by world leaders, in order to achieve a lasting solution.

In a copy of the Communique signed by the organizer; Ambassador Jaygbes, HE Ambassador Manuel Fernandez, Secretary General and Dr. Mykel Parish, Chairman Central Organising Committee, and made a available to the media through its Representative in Warri, yesterday, the Summit reaffirmed commitment to multilateralism, diplomacy, and international cooperation.

The Summit also recognized the interconnectedness of our world and the need for collective action to address global issues through the main theme of the Summit:
Harnessing the gains of Global Diplomacy and Peaceful Coexistence: The
Role of International Organizations.

Other resolutions reached during the three (3) days deliberations included: International Peace and Diplomacy, Investment Opportunity and Economic Development, Action Plan on Climate Change, as well as global security challenges and how to ensure that would leader embrace peaceful resolution of the conflicts within their nation and neighboring countries.

Speaking on the Summit, the organizer, Ambassador Jaygbes Napoleon Ogbole, the Country Director for the International Society of Diplomats in Canada,
He is a dynamic Information Technology Business Architect and Entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio spanning small businesses in staffing, real estate investment, and business acquisition.

Beyond entrepreneurship, he’s deeply committed to social impact, serving as the Founder of the Pan African Arts Culture and Trade Institute (PAACATI), a non-profit dedicated to supporting cultural, trade, and tourism institutions. Additionally, he is involved with the Imani Foundation, which operates women’s shelters and foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area.

The event received international delegates from Canada, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Ghana, Egypt, the United Arans Emirate, United States. The International Society of Diplomats Country Director for Nigeria and Head Mission,Prof Edet Ekpenyong, gave an opening remark on Day 1 of the conference and said, ‘The Global Diplomacy Summit Canada 2024 was planned to serve as a platform for discussion, collaboration and exchange of ideas on pressing global issues”.

We, therefore, use this medium to appeal to world leaders to please step in and ensure that the once enjoyable peace in the Middle East is returned and maintained for the sake of the ordinary citizens of the violent conflict-affected countries.”

The Secretary General of the
International Society of Diplomats, Ambassador Manuel Fernadez, who also serves as the Country Director for Brazil, gave the keynoteon Day 1 of the conference in his speech. “He emphasized on importance of diplomacy in shaping the course of human history and advancing the shared aspirations of humanity.

This summit is a testament to our collective commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and diplomacy as the cornerstone of international relations.

The need for diplomatic engagement has never been more pressing in a world marked by complex challenges and rapid changes. We navigate the complexities of this century through diplomacy, seeking common ground and solutions to the myriad issues confronting our world.”

The Nigerian delegation participated in the discussions, and notably Prof. John Enow Tabotndip, Dr. Mykel Chukwuyerem Ajaere, Prof. Amb. Tunji John Asaolu,  Hon.Linda Ene Agada, Mr. Aminu Musa, Dr. Gaby Michael Ghontous, Amb. Aniekanabasi Paulinus Alban,

Others are; Ms. Stephanie Odakhe Egba, Pastor Mrs. Omoyemen Rosemary Gani-Yesufu, Amb. Faranpojo Alexander Omoleye, Amb. Eghomare Benjamin Osaze and  Amb. Idoko Samson Ochimana who are members of the International Society of Diplomats in Nigeria.

A notable delegate from Nigeria and the patron of the International Society of Diplom Sir Dan Anaebo OkekentaJP, was distinguished Business Magnate, Diplomat, and Author known for his relentless pursuit of excellence.

He was honoured with a Global Diplomats Award as an accolade for his outstanding contribution to the sustenance of diplomacy, tolerance and peaceful coexistence in his home country and abroad.

He received a standing ovation and was presented the award by His Royal Highness King Nana Yaw Osam I, Hon. David Smith – Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
