Members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Akwa Ibom state have taken a unanimous decision against Femi Fani-Kayode, who attacked a journalist in Cross River state over a question that borders on who is bankrolling his tour of states and inspecting projects.

Femi Fani-Kayode is Akwa Ibom state at the moment but journalists in the state have decided to shun any of his activities in the state. The members said they are not part of any of his activities in Akwa Ibom state.

In a statement signed by chairman of the state NUJ, Amos Etuk and secretary, Dominic Akpan, the journalists said they already know the performance of Governor Emmanuel Udom, hence they do not need Fani-Kayode to tell them the performance of the governor.

Fani Kayode has come under heavy criticism following his attack on Daily Trust journalist, Charles Eyo in Cross River state.

Fani Kayode fondly referred as FFK told the journalist that he was stupid for asking who is bankrolling his tour of states. The decision against FFk is in line with the decision of the NUJ national secretariat.
