A delegation of Nigeria’s leading Civil Society Organisation, Center for Peace and Environmental Justice CEPEJ on April 1, 2021 paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Office of the World Funds for Development and Planning (WFDP) Abuja.
The team led by its National Coordinator, Comrade Mulade Sheriff was received on arrival by the Country Director and Special Envoy for ECOWAS, Mr. Buhari Muhammad. In a meeting, both parties discussed extensively on current and past programmmes towards promoting peaceful coexistence and sustainability, as well as areas of programme intersection including peace building, education, economic development, agriculture, as well as sports development.
The WFDP Country Director, Mr. Muhammad Buhari said he was glad to identify with a reputable NGO such as CEPEJ, stating that his Organisation signed an agreement with Nigeria’s Federal Government to pool efforts towards promoting and supporting three key areas of concentration viz: Health, Agriculture and Education.
He said he was sure that WFDP would be willing to partner with the highly experienced CEPEJ and strength the three areas, as well as peace building to enable other sectors work peacefully in the country. He thanked CEPEJ for embarking on good and selfless works without Government’s or donors’ funds. He also expressed happiness with recommendations from members of the Diplomatic Corps in Nigeria indicating that CEPEJ’s works were good. He assured that the WFDP would be willing to sign a partnership agreement with CEPEJ as soon as possible to cement relationships.
The CEPEJ National Coordinator, Chief Mulade Sheriff took turn to thank the Country Director and WFDP team for hosting the NGO, in spite of their tight schedules. Highlight of the visit was the presentation of CEPEJ’s 2021 calender and other important souvenirs to the host.
